The GIRLS of GIRL episode 5: The BOYS of GIRL.

moresinners
Jeremy, Mike, and Ryan are three boys intimately involved with the production in different roles. They’re handsome boys with a significant investment in storytelling: Mike is Grey Room’s Managing Director, Ryan is Artistic Director of Roaring Company, and Jeremy just wrapped up his second year of study at the Atlantic Theater Company. Here are the y-chromosome crew telling their side of the story.

1. What’s your name?
Ryan Meyer
2. What’s your role?
Stage Manager
3. What’s your favorite thing about girls?
I think girls tend to be exceptionally funny. All my favorite comedians are girls.
4. What’s your least favorite thing about girls?
Hair in the shower drain. Easily.
5. What is your secret awesome talent?
The old cell phone game Snake. The last thing I wanna do is brag here but I’m like…really good at it.
6. What’s your favorite thing about this play?
The three main characters each have such a dignified relationship to humor in the face of adversity. Their frank observations about some of their darkest moments are shockingly hilarious.
7. What’s your desert island food?
Sausage, egg, and cheese.
8. Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?
I’m a pacifist, so this question is offensive to me.  I settle any disagreements with animals-that-are-the-size-of-other-animals in a peaceful, mutually respectful manner

1. What’s your name?
Jeremy Grinberg
2. What’s your role?
Isaac
3. What’s your favorite thing about girls?
They’re purrrty.
4. What’s your least favorite thing about girls?
They generally care too much about how they look
5. What is your secret awesome talent?
I can beatbox and whistle at the same time.
6. What’s your favorite thing about this play?
[Jeremy declined to answer this question, based on his political convictions]
7. What’s your desert island food?
French Onion Soup….and a Soda on the side.
8. Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?
100 duck sized horses…that would be cute and probably painful.

1. What’s your name?
Mike Wesolowski
2. What’s your role?
Producer. Essentially I served as the logistical head of the production, so my duties/tasks include creating the budget, obtaining the performance rights, negotiating our space rental contract, recruiting (and subsequently communicating with) our design team and run crew, communicating with our generous donors, managing our ticket website, assisting with casting, assisting with the coordination and execution of our marketing campaign, and other such things.
3. What’s your favorite thing about girls?
Probably patience or generosity or listening ability. Growing up, the majority of positive role models in my life were women and those seem to have been the traits that they all shared.
4. What’s your least favorite thing about girls?
Sometimes I feel like they want me to read their minds.
5. What is your secret awesome talent?
I can play five instruments (varying degrees of proficiency).
6. What’s your favorite thing about this play?
It moves along. The risk of a monologue play, being that you’re looking at the same person on stage for upwards of 20 minutes with not much else going on visually, is that it can get boring. I got to see a run-though last week, though, and I think these actors are doing a fantastic job making sure that doesn’t happen. They’re finding something in literally every moment and keeping the stories compelling throughout. I think the play is going to be very well received because of this — but I’m probably a little biased.
7. What’s your desert island food?
A shit-ton of cantaloupe, actually.
8. Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?
Actually spent way too long thinking about this. Probably the horse-sized duck.

The boys present: girl. Opens this Wednesday, July 10th!!! Tickets are an unreasonably low $10 and available HERE, RIGHT NOW.
